Chimborazo is Ecuador´s highest and largest mountain (6.310m). For a long time it was considered as the world´s highest mountain (but in fact it is due to earth´s equatorial bulge, which makes the peak of Chimborazo be the farthest point from the centre of earth). Climbing this spectacular mountain is physically demanding but the breathtaking view is worth every effort.

After approximately 5 hours the drive ends at the lower mountain hut (4800m). This is followed by 45-minutes trek to the next and the highest hut in Ecuador at 5000m - the Whimper Hut. Later on acclimatization walks to the glaciers. Afternoon at leisure. Early dinner and sleep. Wake up at 11:00 p.m. for a like coffee or tea.

Day 2:
The climb begins at midnight towards the moraines that lead to the "Castle", where the ice path begins to head up along the ridges of the western slopes. The view is spectacular and unique from here. From the summit, if weather permits, the Pacific Ocean can be seen. The climb lasts an average of 8-9 hours to the top (dependind on weather and participant conditions).
