OTAVALO CLASSIC
(02 days / 01 night, any day)


Day 01: Driving north from Quito to reach the town of Calderon, famous for its hand-made bread-dough figures. Continuing down the road to Guayllabamba valley, Cayambe (famous for biscuits and cheese). Arrive to Otavalo, visit the largest Indian market in South American. Afterwards, lunch at a local hacienda to continue in the afternoon with a visit to Peguche (where wool tapestries are made) and San Antonio de Ibarra, a center known for its woodcarvings. Accommodation in a typical hacienda or country inn and dinner.

Day 02: After breakfast. Drive up to Cuicocha lake, hike around this flooded volcanic crater with its twin islets, time to observe some particular species of orchids. Continue your journey with a stop on Cotacachi (a leather goods centre, famous for its handmade designs). Lunch at local Hacienda or Hostelry. Return to Quito.

COTOPAXI ADVENTURE
(2 days / 1 night, any day)


Day 01: Early in the morning, drive to the South passing by Latacunga, Pujilí, Tigua village where the famous bright paintings of the same name of this town were born, the paintingss show the Andean life that are locally made on sheepskin canvases mounted on wood frames. Driving up, until arrive to the dark green Quilotoa Crater Lake inside an extinct Volcano. From the top of the crater there are a beautiful views of the green lake below and the snow capped Cotopaxi and Illiniza in the distances. Box lunch is included. Overnight at Local Hostelry and dinner.

Day 02: After breakfast, drive to Ambato, Salasacas, Pelileo, and Baños. Visit this nice town (a gateway into the Jungle) and enjoy the beautiful waterfalls that exist in this area, the variety of flora and fauna and see the thermal springs that gave the name to this village. After lunch, time to visit the museum and the Basilica downtown in the city itself. (optional mountain bike, horse riding).

On your way back to Quito admire the majestic Avenue of the Volcanoes at sunset.

FEELING OF THE ANDES
(03 days / 02 nights, any Tue & Sat)

Day 01: After an early departure, we drive to the south of Quito, to visit the Cotopaxi National Park. Continue to Ambato (city of flowers and fruits) until we reach the city of Riobamba, on the road to this site one will pass by the Igualata ridge on the Urbina moorlands. Before we arrive at Riobamba , the road climbs over a 3600 mts pass that affords great views of Volcanoes Chimborazo (6310 mts) and Carihuairazo (5020 mts). Riobamba was a Puruhua Indian Center before becoming part of the Inca Empire during the late 15th century, it was also the birthplace of Ecuador’s first constitution, in 1830. Nowadays it is an important agricultural area. A brief tour of Riobamba includes its French-influenced plazas, the Cathedral and a quick view of las Conceptas Museum. Lunch is included.

Arrive on time to overnight at local Hostelry in Riobamba surroundings and dinner

Day 02: After breakfast, on the drive to the south, pass by Balbanera Chapel, the oldest Catholic chapel in the country, until you reach the Alausí train station. Take the train (if available) and experience the adventure of going from the high Andes to the low lands through the Devil’s Nose. While we continue on the road, a box lunch is served until we reach the Ingapirca Inca Ruins, the most important religious and political complex left by the Incas in Ecuador. Visit the museum at the site.

Accommodation at Local Hotel and dinner.

Day 03: After breakfast be ready to visit one of the most beautiful colonial cities of Ecuador. Walk through its cobblestone streets, admire the wrought-iron balconies, and visit the Cathedral. Continue to the flowered plazas and see some market places to find original handicrafts. Lunch at a local restaurant. In the afternoon, transfer out for your flight to Quito or Guayaquil.

    - Quito / Cotopaxi / Riobamba and lunch

Day 01: Transfer in Cuenca to your hotel.
Immediately start with a visit to this nicest colonial city on Ecuador. Walking through its cobbled stone streets, visit the Cathedral, see the colonial churches and buildings, continue to the flowered market and other sites to find some handicrafts. Lunch at local restaurant. In the afternoon visit to a straw-hat or ceramic factory. Overnight at Hotel.

Day 02: After breakfast drive to the valleys of Gualaceo & Chordeleg to see the finest filigree work on silver and gold or go to the Cajas National Park (a beautiful set of lakes with wonderful scenery surroundings). Lunch is included. Overnight at Hotel.

Day 03: American breakfast . Transfer out to take the flight to Quito or to Guayaquil.
