DAY 8, Sunday

Interpretation Center, San Cristobal – Flight back to Ecuador mainland.

Today we woke up very early, the flight back to Quito departs in the morning, this is why after disembarking at Puerto Baquerizo Moreno (San Cristobal Island capital); we have a short hour to visit the Interpretation Center. This is an informative place sponsored by the Spanish Government Cooperation Center.

The Center was opened in 1999. Here we gain a more complete understanding of why we should preserve this little paradise. The explanation boards cover natural and human history of the islands.

After this visit, we are transported to the airport, we sadly say goodbye to our kind guides and we start to check in our flight.

There are a lot of details unsaid that is why we thought on the idea of putting many pictures. Pictures say more than thousand words, so I hope you liked it and that you have a better appreciation of what your Galapagos cruise could be.

This is for sure a memorable experience for anyone visiting the islands, you will learn and enjoy of the nature, of the wildlife, you will learn to protect more and preserve more this sort of delicate environments still existing in earth, and of course, you will make new friends on board.

Our traveler companion Erik, said:

“There’s good ships

and there’s wood ships

and there’s ships that sail the sea

But the best ships

Are friendships,

And may they always be”
